Cod and Haddock Fishing
Our staple offshore, year round New England fishes. Cod and Haddock are fun to catch and great to eat. Anglers usually load up coolers of fresh fillets for the dinner table that evening and many others as these fish keep very well when frozen. Usually fished for from a drifting or anchored boat, these fish are bottom dwellers. Fishing in waters 150+ feet deep is the norm here, with either jigs bouncing off the bottom or clams sending out their dinner bell scent. It’s not uncommon to have 6 anglers fishing onboard with 6 bent over rods time and time again. It’s a fun way to catch dinner with some of the Cod we have caught tipping the 40+lb. scales. It’s also very common for the charter group to ‘donate’ a fillet or two to the Captain and his family.
